Theories and practices of traditional 35mm and 4x5 B&W film photography. There is no pre-req for this course. Technical and creative use of manual camera controls and accessories, film development, printing, and print presentation techniques. This is NOT a digital course!
Projects emphasize aesthetics and photographic problem solving utilizing text and classroom information. Activities include: shooting and sharing photography projects, homework readings & writings, Internet research, exams, demonstrations, and discussing a variety of professional photographers images.
Students must be able to arrange 4 hours of time per week for outside of class work. This course may be used as an elective for the Professional Photography Degree or Certificate.
